Sad news for fans of Drew Nieporent 's Mexican concept, Centrico : the restaurant is closing to make way for a "new American public house" called Distilled NY. Nieporent sold the space to restaurateurs Nick Iovacchini, Chris Eddy, and Shane Lyons, who plan to open the new bar and restaurant next winter. It's unclear if Centrico will return after a summer break, or if it's just closed for good.
The restaurant's OpenTable account is still active, and the outgoing message notes that Centrico is closed through the holiday weekend.
